As a child, growing up in rural Victoria, John was constantly dreaming
up things to draw. Even still, John continues to use his fantastical and
sometimes dark imagination to bring to life visions of our dreams.
John\'s schooling was guided by his love of art, eventually leading to
a tertiary course in applied art at RMIT.
Seeking an audience for his work John began to exhibit his work at local
art shows making sales at his very first exhibition. As his abilities
became known he was commissioned to produce various works ranging from
animal and human portraits to fantasy paintings.
In recognition of his unique style and subject matter John has been awarded
high distinctions at various art shows including two consecutive years
at the Woodend Lions Art Show. When winning a highly commended at the
Dilkara Arts Festival the judge, Joan Gough, commented "This work
was of equal value in its subject matter and executions to the works of
the winner....... This painter will produce interesting work in this style
if he continues along this line of development."
John now lives at Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast and continues to paint
with a passion stirred from the supernatural visions of his imagination.
" I hope that the people who buy or view my paintings are provoked
by the mystical world I like to portray, giving them an escape from the
often too real world we live in......"
